LABOUR OF LOVE 😘

We love our new home there…hence the song in the title ;)

I’m sure that you all noticed some changes around Playground Berlin ▶️ last Wednesday evening when you came to play your matches

Mainly the lights and the pitch boundaries. Now this happened because of an event happening on Saturday…or tomorrow as some may say.

Now believe it or not, we do that every week. However, this week our hands were “forced” to do it prior to Wednesday’s matches…unfortunately.

We are working towards being fully independent from ESV Lok Schoneweide e.V, but require some more time so we can organise ourselves and make this dream a reality. Just so you know, we will continue to play on the real grass pitches there for the future…so no drama 🥳

I just wanted to make everyone aware this week of what we do and mainly, how long it takes us each week to do.

Yes, sometimes there are mistakes with goal scorers, actual scores of the games, referees etc…but setting up Playground Berlin ▶️ takes a lot of time out of our schedules.

So…I ask for your patience regarding certain things and tasks that you request from us. They can take longer than I (and you) would personally like, but that is the nature of the business.

All of us here at The Startup League appreciate you all and have grown very fond of you all. Each team has their own characteristics and obvious qualities…so thank you for being you 🫵😀

NEW T’S&C’S FOR CAPTAINS 📏

We have incorporated new rules regarding referees and team captains…but this does also concern all players within the teams. Please read on.

These rules are in place to make for a fairer playing field…both for you (the player) and for the referees. They’re not paid enough for some of the feedback they have given me personally, so as always…I am the chosen mediator. I don’t only have to do it between you lot from time to time 😀

I did send this to all team captains requesting they post it in the necessary football related platforms…but putting it here just in case some of them missed the memo 😉

> At the beginning of each match, the team captains will approach the referee for a coin toss deciding who starts at which end of the pitch and also who kicks off 1st.

> This is so the captains can introduce themselves to the referee and shake hands with the captain of the opposition, for a friendly introduction.

> ONLY the team captain can speak to the referee regarding and decisions that said referee makes. This is crucial.

If the previous steps are not followed next week, then these additional rules will be put in place.

> Any other team member that approaches the referee regarding a decision, will be sent to the "sin bin" for 2 minutes and your team will be 1 player down for the duration of those 2 minutes.

> The referee will decide on what defines "approaching" and make the necessary decisions.

I really hope this solves the slight issue that we all have…not just the refs.
