Yes, yes, yes…Valentines day was this week. How was yours? Nothing but spectacular we’ll bet 😀

We appreciate all those that came for the Startup League matches on Wednesday. Even those that could not / didn’t come, we still appreciate you too 🤝

RULES - THE CAGE(S) 🫡

Cage(s)? More on that below in the Developments at Playground Berlin ▶️ section 😉

Had a few questions regarding the cage and the rules this week.

”Why can’t we play off the walls?” - being the major one.

Well, the answer is simple.

If we choose to agree that teams can “play off the wall” in the cage, it won’t be the same game when playing on pitches without walls…therefore affecting the outcome of matches and in turn, the quarterly tournament ✌️

That’s it really…once we have all the cages built, then we can hold a poll to decide to play off the walls, oder nicht.

It looks likely that we will allow to play off the walls, so prepare yourselves for that 🙂

For now, when the ball touches the wall…the ball is out of play. Just the same as it would be for the other pitches.

FRIENDLY MATCHES - WHAT THEY ACHIEVE 💪

Friendly matches…they do serve a purpose 👍

We understand that some weeks teams cannot come for whatever reason…un-avoidable sometimes.

This is why Startup League offers friendlies for those teams that do wish to come for a kickaround.

Not only is it so we can see you and you can get some exercise, it is also so we can place your team against others (not in your divisions), record the scores and keep track of any “surprise” results that may come from these friendly matches.

This week was a prime example of some surprise results…

So, please do come along for the matches that are impromptu scheduled. It also helps you as a team develop your team skills and climb the ladder in Startup League divisions 🆙

DEVELOPMENTS @ Playground Berlin ▶️

This week, we have been progressing with the cage(s)…why cage(s)?

Because there may be 2 of them coming up very soon. Only time shall tell 😉

If (and for sure when) it is built, we are aiming for pitch 4. Next to the existing cage on 3 that is there currently.

Apart from that, we’ve been tidying up the place a little, getting ready for the Q2’24 season where a lot more guests will be welcomed to Playground Berlin ▶️
